Man killed in fatal motorcycle accident in Georgia

There is more than one safety issue facing motorcyclists. Unfortunately, motorcyclists who always wear their helmet and follow safety recommendations still face the possible negligence of drivers of more traditional vehicles. Because there is no metal or padding to protect bikers involved in a collision, a motorcycle accident can have serious consequences. For example, one man was recently killed while riding his motorcycle in Georgia.

The accident happened one Saturday evening in December. Police say that the 25-year-old victim was traveling east on a Georgia road. Unfortunately, the driver of a sedan was apparently attempting to make a left turn onto the road from a parking lot. The sedan is said to have pulled into the path of the motorcycle, which then struck the car's left side.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital, where he later died. It is unclear at this time if the driver of the car suffered injuries or if police expect criminal charges will be filed as a result of the man's death. The investigation into the tragedy is likely ongoing.

The news of a loved one's death from what appears to have been a preventable motorcycle accident is likely difficult to accept. Unfortunately, many people who have lost a loved one have to cope with the financial ramifications of the tragedy in addition to their emotions. Some in Georgia have sought assistance with the financial aspects of such a loss by filing a wrongful death lawsuit in a civil court. A successfully-argued case could allow them to focus on their emotional recovery rather than their financial situation.
