Drivers shouldn’t be a danger to pedestrians and others

Pedestrians aren’t ever a match for motor vehicles. When a car, truck or other vehicle slams into a pedestrian, that pedestrian is likely going to bear the brunt of the injury. This doesn’t mean that pedestrians should just stay away from roadways. In fact, there are many people in the Atlanta area who rely on walking as their primary way to get around.

People who drive vehicles should be aware of the pedestrians that are in the vicinity. They should also be aware of the laws that govern how motor vehicles interact with pedestrians. For example, drivers must yield to pedestrians in crosswalks. Failing to do so could lead to a fatal accident.

Even though pedestrians do have the right-of-way in many circumstances, they should still try to remain safe. We know that you probably didn’t leave home with the intention of getting hit by a car. Sadly, some drivers are in such a hurry that they are willing to risk the life of a pedestrian by speeding, driving in an unsafe manner or failing to obey traffic laws. This can lead to a pedestrian accident. If this unfortunate event occurs, you should be sure that you seek medical care and then find out more about seeking compensation.

We know that it is difficult to think about undertaking something as large as seeking compensation from the driver who slammed into you. We are here to help you learn about the process. If you opt to seek compensation, we will stand by ready to do the legal legwork while you focus on trying to live your life and reclaim your health.
