Unemployment Benefits Through the Coronavirus Stimulus Bill

On March 25, 2020 the United States Senate passed a stimulus bill to help the economy get through the coronavirus pandemic. The stimulus bill provides for payment of $600 per week for a person’s first four months of unemployment. The $600 weekly payment is in addition to unemployment benefits payable through each state. In Georgia the maximum state provided unemployment benefit is $365.00. If the United States Congress passes The Senate version of the stimulus bill a person entitled to unemployment can receive up to $965 per week for the first four months of unemployment.
